Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

For our last weekend in Tennessee we drove up to Gettysburg. Dustin served his mission in that area and actually in Gettysburg too! It was fun to see several of the places he served and lived not to mention he made an excellent tour guide. We were able to see the historic area and do a tour of the battlefield. We bought a CD for the car tour (the battlegrounds are so expansive you need some sort of transportation) and were grateful that Mya slept for about 3 hours of the 4 hour tour. It was fascinating to see the battlegrounds and hear the battle stories. Still it is hard to imagine just how crazy (and horrific) those three days would have been. Here are some pictures of the trip.
Dustin took this picture on his mission and it was still hanging up at the ice cream shop in downtown Gettysburg
Mya climbing the stairs of one of the many monuments on the battlefields
We were trying to get a picture of us in front of the sign but Mya threw a fit and decided to act like a penguin instead
Mya and I with Abe in front of the visitors center
Mya was in stuffed animal heaven (three levels worth) at the huge Boyd's Bear store there in Gettysburg. It took awhile to pick out just one bear to take home!
Mya at one of the battle locations
A view from a canon. They actually have canons set up where they were during the battles
Mya playing on the porch of a store in downtown Gettysburg

Looks like a fun family trip. I served with Dustin in the PA mission. I still haven't been back. I'm jealous!
