Ft. Benning, Georgia

The last few days Mya and I have been in Columbus Georgia, at Ft. Benning. My family went down to see my brother graduate from Infantry Boot Camp. We were all so proud of him and can't wait to see where he will be stationed. He has another three weeks of additional training (airborne) so he will also be qualified as a paratrooper. He passed up moving on to Army Ranger and Special Forces training so he could be sure to do this, but he hopes to enter SF training at some other time. Wow I can't believe my little brother is jumping out of air planes! We had a great time visiting and getting to learn some of what PVT Miles has been up to, lets just say better him than me! We got to explore the National Infantry Museum (NIM), which was very informative and impressive. The graduation ceremony was great to see. As the men marched up the field gun fire and smoke grenades were set off giving the effect of battle all as the announcer was talking about the Infantry through out history. Go Airborne. Hoo AH! (they say that alot!)
Mom and PVT Miles on family day!
Kambra, Rachel and Mya enjoying some of the NIM. Thank goodness Mya fell asleep shortly after this!
Introducing the families to a bit of the Infantry units procedure during the graduation ceremony
Some of the practice jumps for Airborne, this first one is 750 feet up. I guess they think they need practice before actually jumping out of a plane!
Rachel and I practiced shooting some of the Infantries weapons! My marksmanship skills were enough to qualify me for Infantry training!
Saying goodbye as PVT Miles reports in for Airborne training
We stopped by Barnes and Nobles for Taylor to get some books and Mya decided to relax and get some reading in!
Rachel, Kambra and Mom waiting to eat
After graduation we got in a pictures of all the Miles kiddos (however un-kid like we look)
Proud Momma and her baby boy at graduation
Marching in. Taylor is second from the bottom in the middle row
Attention!
Driving around in the car, Mya was so good the whole trip!
