Mya turns 3!

Mya was extremely excited for her birthday this year and was looking forward to it for months. She asked for an OLIVIA party, but basically we just decorated with OLIVIA and had the kids do a craft and play. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and Dustin made some delicious red velvet cupcakes (thank you honey!) We kept it small even though Mya had a few others she wanted to invite, the weather predictions were not cooperating for an outdoor party and our little apartment couldn't hold many more people! She ended up having a wonderful time and even though for the start of the party it was raining by the end we were able to take the kids to a park to play.

Two funny birthday stories:

When we came home from the park around 5 we bathed her and she fall asleep on the couch around 6 (she never does that). Around 9:30 she woke up crying. She came in our room sad and very upset that she forgot to give her friends their goody bags (she could barely get the words out around the tears) and now they were gone! We had to convince her that she did give it to them and they were sleeping now at their homes too!

Before the party started, Dustin and I were trying to get ready and Mya just wouldn't give us any space to do anything. Finally she came up to me and said.. I'm grumpy (with her best angry face), I don't want a party. I asked her if she was upset because we weren't paying attention to her. She immediately looked at me and said YES.
Mya, Andee and Jaxon playing under the table
Mya getting ready to blow out the candles, we had to tell her repeatedly not blow them out till after the song was over
Some of the OLIVIA decor.
Mya waiting for her friends to arrive, playing with some of the craft supplies
Trying to blow out the candles
Mya and Andee working on their doll houses
Mya (on her actually b-day) opening her soccer ball..I was a little disappointed at her reactions to the gifts, this was probably the best...she has loved all her presents but when opening them she ripped it open as fast as she could, looked at it and then moved on to the next one! It was pretty funny although I was looking for a little excitement! Well like daddy like daughter...at least Gramma can sympathize!
We got a little pink cake for her actual b-day so we could have a family celebration, she was anxiously waiting to blow out the candles

How cute! And yes, happy birthday to Mya!!! I loved hearing your stories. It's amazing how they can get ideas and figure things out even at this young age!
